FuppyJam Posted July 7, 2020 Posted July 7, 2020 Hope everyone is doing well. I've recently run into an issue w/ using the target designator when flying any of the SU variants, including the J-11. When I go into BVR mode (button 2) and then turn on the radar (button i) I get the target designator rectangle. The problem is that when I move the designator around the screen it automatically defaults to the top left center of the HUD. Sometimes the designator is hard to move to the right as it is fighting me to get back to the left center. I've verified that this bug exists in all of the SU variants. When I use other FC3 modules I don't have this issue and the BVR target designator works just fine. I've also verified that this isn't my HOTAS as I've tried another HOTAS and the bug still exists. I've also tried disconnecting the HOTAS and flying using the keyboard only; I still get the same issue. I've followed the instructions on running the repair and update options however that hasn't helped either. I really like flying the flankers but can't use them to their full capacity because of this bug. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!
Flappie Posted July 7, 2020 Posted July 7, 2020 Hi FuppyJam. Are you talking about the "TDC Slew Horizontal/Vertical" axis command or the "Target Designator Left/Right/Up/Down" button command? If you talk about axis, you may want to check the axis tune menu of both horizontal and vertical slew command. Here is what I've got: ---
FuppyJam Posted July 7, 2020 Author Posted July 7, 2020 Hi FuppyJam. If you talk about axis, you may want to check the axis tune menu of both horizontal and vertical slew command. Here is what I've got: Hi Flappie - Thank you for the info. Specifically I am talking about the Target Designator w/ Left/Right/Up/Down. I'll check out the axis tune menu but I don't think that's it as the Target Designator works fine in other modules. Also, I believe (and correct me if I'm wrong) that the axis tune is specifically set up to tune HOTAS buttons. Since this issue still occurs without the HOTAS connected I don't think it applies. Again, thanks for the info. I'll check it out!!
Flappie Posted July 7, 2020 Posted July 7, 2020 I see. No need to check the axis tune, then. I'm pretty sure you are wrestling against one of your controllers axis. Please check that no axis is configured for both "TDC Slew Horizontal" and "TDC Slew Vertical" axis commands. It could be anything: Rudder pedal, TrackIR, XBox pad... ---

Hey Flappie - I think you may have been right. I also think that I had a corrupt profile for my HOTAS. It turns out that the problem was fixed when I deleted the HOTAS profile for my SU aircraft and then created a new one. Thanks for your help!!
