So I have two issues with the JF-17 tpod. One I can't seem to consistently get a lock. No matter how many times I press the tdc lock, 90% of the time the tpod locks the target then loses it immediately. The other 10% of the time it works just fine. Ive tried adjusting the contrast and gain to make acquiring a lock easier but no matter what I do its still very difficult at any range.

My second issue is that whenever I try to turn on the TPOD from a cold start the Align message pops up with a 60 second timer but then the message just disappears and the tpod stays off. The work around I found for this is to press the tdc lock key. But even though that will turn the tpod on it acts very weird and sluggish not like it normally functions. I've heard of the IFF work around but that A doesn't work for me and B is not the same issue as the one I am having. My tpod refuses to align, the issue that the IFF interrogate button solves was with the align timer getting stuck.

Any ideas what I am doing wrong? Are these issues known bugs?

1. The WMD-7 has a range of about 20nm to 22nm at best. You must be in AG master mode to enter Area / Point Track. Provided you are within 20nm and in AG mode, the TGP should at least stabilize in Area Track. If you want to go into Point Track, but the pod instead switches to Area Track, it could be that you need to add or increase the deadzone on your slew stick.

2. You need to turn on CLDP on the AAP.

TPOD use image lock in RL.

FOV zoom in/out will cause TPOD lens refocus, image is blurred, image lock will not be achieved (maybe a bit too absolutized, but make sense),

TPOD have to go into AREA track to try stable at last known position.

1. Increasing the deadzone helped but its still pretty finicky. I have the deadzones set to 25.

2. This worked perfectly thanks! Why does combat not turn the CLDP on? regardless thanks for the info!
