dundun92
While the AMRAAM has received some notable and needed improvements, it seems that the new guidance has some issues. So far, I have not been able to intentionally replicate them. They almost always involve the missile under correcting as it approaches the target, then just before it flys by the target, it will sharply correct, but its too late by then. Other times, it just flat-out stops tracking for no reason. Here is a video showing two of them: https://streamable.com/mv4qu0 I encounter these issues about once per MP session on say GS or the 104th, but I have never been able, as of yet, to reproduce them on a simple SP mission, as I have no idea why they are ocuring. So posting a track would be basically impossible, and unhelpful. Does anyone have any idea whats causing these issues? Eagle Enthusiast, Fresco Fan. Patiently waiting for the F-15E. dundun92
Before the update, 120 was better. This change was wrong. I would hardly go that far, as I said initially the AMRAAM has been VASTLY improved, it just needs a few guidance issues ironed out, thats all. Eagle Enthusiast, Fresco Fan. marcoacv
Dear friend I would hardly go that far, as I said initially the AMRAAM has been VASTLY improved, it just needs a few guidance issues ironed out, thats all. It seems that the missile's strange behavior is related to the fact that it has no effect against countermeasures or notch maneuver. Now to escape only by running away. Man I love DCS and I fly since 2003 when I was still Lomac. I've lost count of how many times this 120 missile has been modified for better realism. However, if the Chaffs had no effect then it would not exist.

So it’s hard, but it’s possible if you fly level and slowly move the nose around while releasing chaff until it loses lock then level out and fly as straight as possible until RWR/MAWS shows it passed you Edited July 27, 2020 by AeriaGloria Black Shark Den Squadron Member: We are open to new recruits, click here to check us out or apply to join! https://blacksharkden.com

Try fight some AI (excellent skill) then you can see how any ARM get spoofed by chaffs. In MP I quite alot got away from 120 by spamming chaffs. Mastering others is strength. dundun92
I wouldnt use SP to test chaff resistance, its massively reduced there Eagle Enthusiast, Fresco Fan. Patiently waiting for the F-15E. AeriaGloria
Example of the broken'ness You did a vertical notch and they lost lock? What’s wrong? TAW_Mago
I don´t know about the first one but the second one probably was notched for a moment and when reaquiring him it was too late to make the turn. Desync could also play a role here.
