We, in RvE, have found our solution for this- no ECM for fighters in our server. It's clear that it's not modelled properly and could be used as an exploit so we decided to save conflicts like that in our server. I, for instance, never use it when I fly a fighter. I found it more disadvantegous rather than being helpful.

Does turning on ECM necessarily disable your iff transponder in the RL eagle?

It doesn't ... different frequencies - typically an SPJ wouldn't cover IFF frequencies. Typically. (its job is to deal with weapon systems)

In the RVE server it was nice that Fighters could not use ECM's.

 

It truly tested your ability to fly around bandits radar cone coverage. Although with fighters not being able to use the ECM ground pounders could and some times bandits would ride the ECM coverage from the ground pounders.

 

Even with out fighters usesing ECM I still called out "IFF ECM CHECK" and there were no responces as well.

 

Take forinstance in the Viet-Nam war when you had JAMMER aircraft Jamming SAM radars. The JAMMING air craft did not JAM up F-4 Phantoms radars as well.

Mustang I broke ur lock twice and u started to call me a blinker or what ever u sed, then u left saying- I dont want fo fly like this :). Im not using Grayghost made ecm script or anything like it. But I will and that's what jammers are made for barke ur lock when I feel its a good time. So plz dont start calling people for exploiters because off u dont think its realistic or what ever. Been doing this way t long time and Im so tired off hearing same bullshit over and over again. Grow up and learn how to deel whit stuffs that doesnt feet u, rather then calling people for exploiters. :)

That's because the phantom's antennae were pointed AWAY from the jammer. No other reason.
