*Rage* Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 Hi all, After something of an absence for the last year or so im getting back into flying FC especially with the delay for BS. Reninstalled the game with HL/Naturalpoint/Cougar etc and after much frustration it appears to be working ok.... Except in game ALL i can hear is the deafening engine noise. No matter what i try (adjusting sound, editing plane.cfg in sounds, reinstalling sound drivers, trying alchemy, pulling my hair out, drowning a kitten etc) nothing seems to be working. Anyone have any bright ideas how to solve this. At the moment it is simply unplayable. The strange thing is it was working well to start with with bassy sound and great 3d effects and then it just went to $hit. yes I am running Vista....but that is here to stay, going back to XP is not an option. Thanks in advance. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 64th "Scorpions" Aggressor Squadron Discord: 64th Aggressor Squadron TS: 195.201.110.22
Fjordmonkey Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 Check this post =) http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=28869 Not sure if you have an X-Fi, but if you do, head over to Creative's site and grab the latest ALchemy-pack. Hope this helps. Regards Fjordmonkey Clustermunitions is just another way of saying that you don't like someone. I used to like people, then people ruined that for me.
TorwaK Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 Firstly check this, http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=29002 Second (solution until you get SP1) go to C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On\Sounds folder and edit Plane.cfg file with notepad. Change the settings as I showed you below and save the file. Remember the file is read-only at default so change it before edit. EngineAfterburnerSound = false; EngineFrontSound = true; EngineBackSound = true; EngineAroundSound = true; WindSound = false; DistortionSound = false; CockpitSystemsSound = true; CockpitAfterburnerSound = true; [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Intel Core i7-6700K, @5GHz | Asus Maximus Hero VIII | 2 x eVGA GTX 970 SLI | Kingston Predator 16GB DDR4-3000Mhz | 2 x Samsung 850 PRO 240GB RAID-0 | AOC G2460PG G-SYNC LCD | OCULUS RIFT CV1 VR | THRUSTMASTER HOTAS WARTHOG | CH PRO PEDALS

TheMoose Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 Thanks guys, the Creative ALchemy (X-Fi Edition) 1.00.30 software fixed my issue with the loud engine sounds under vista, it was not required to modify any files under Lockon.
