In some modules, my initial view is wrong. Either it is not in the centre of the zoom axis at first, and then when the zoom is touched the neutral position is OK, or vice versa.

In some modules, my initial view is the same as the neutral zoom axis one, e.g. Hornet, Viper, but others, e.g. F-5E or Spitfire, it's not.

Where is this view defined, and how to edit it?

Thanks.

Thank you, but I am talking about the initial set view on each module and how that relates to the neutral point in the zoom axis.

I believe you can achieve what you asked for with editing snapviews.

Snapview 5 is the default position you start in.

Press Right Alt + Numpad 5 (Uses snapview 5), manipulate the view to your liking and then press Right Alt + Numpad 0 (Saves the current view to the last used snapview, in this case 5, i.e. default view).

Edit: It's normal that you have to move the zoom-axis a bit in order for the game to correct the amount zoom. When the mission starts the game doesn't know what value your zoom-axis is at and chooses a default value. Once you move the zoom axis, the value gets updated and your view is corrected.

Thanks for that.

What you say is logical, but most modules do start at the 'zoom neutral' position OK. But, some don't. Examples attached for the F-5. Closer one is zoom neutral, and the other is mission start position. What I want is mission start view to be the closer one.

The game must know the initial position is it wouldn't consistently show the same view otherwise, would it?

Somewhere in the overall settings there is something like 'synchronize hotas settings on start'. I know this will have my plane pop up w/ the flaps down if that is where I have the switch from the last flight. Haven't tried it w/ zoom but maybe......

That is the answer! Thank you.
