MAXsenna Posted August 11, 2020 Posted August 11, 2020 Started mission, some reports about fighters and an Il-76 coming South-East towards a lake. Which made no sense. Started plane, flew to quarry, then lake. To fighters were reported, might be escorts. Orbited the lake for a while. Decided to fly to Soganlug. Was shot down, by something. SAM? Restarted, then the above messages made sense. Am I doing something wrong? Stable 2.5.6.53437 Enjoying this! :)

smittjames Posted August 22, 2020 Posted August 22, 2020 Hi. I'm having the same problem with Mission 15, Final Nail with the Sabre. I'm a noob when it comes to DCS, but I believe I updated to the recent Beta that was released this past Wednesday (Aug. 19th) 2.5.6.52437 and I'm still getting radio messages that the IL-76 and escort fighters have already departed Soganlug before I have time to fire up my Sabre at Beslan. Like I said, I'm pretty new to DCS, so I don't know what "flying stable' means. Do I just need to wait a few more days or is there something I need to do while I'm in the game, etc? This is a fantastic campaign! I appreciate any advice. Thanks!

It looks like you're playing (flying) the "Stable" version of DCS with that version number you posted. https://updates.digitalcombatsimulator.com/ Typically the Beta will become the Stable a week or two later, but there's no guarantee. This issue should have been resolved in the Beta version. So you can do one of two things, download the Beat version or simply wait. It certainly does take up a good chunk of real estate on your hard drive to have both versions, but most of the people I know fly just the Beta. There's pro's and con's to it. But I personally think the pro's outweigh the con's. smittjames Posted August 23, 2020 Posted August 23, 2020 Thanks for the advice, Apache600! I'll probably just wait it out and see if it eventually gets fixed. I really loved the Museum Relic campaign. "Cloak & Dagger" took me about 20 times to get it right, but it was really rewarding when I finally got my timing and altitude figured out. Even though I really like the F86, I'm probably just going to play through it again with the Mig 15. Thanks again for your help and all your work!
