TBAR Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 So before I start I just want to say thanks to Hollywood for producing a great piece of software; when I have had it working it’s been awesome. However my experience with Viacom and VA has been a little frustrating, primarily down to the low level of confidence the software has when it’s trying to recognise what I'm saying. I have completed the MS speech recognition calibrations several times. However VA/Viacom are constantly not recognising the phrase and the confidence really jumps around I've gone over all the setting for hardware and software and I still can't get it working smoothly. So is it the microphone in the Rift-S that's the issue?
Greyman Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 You might want to check the volume level for the Mic, via the Oculus software (via Selecting your HMD in Devices IIRC) However, if the recognition is being inconsistent for particular words, place names for example, you might want to add those to the speech recognition dictionary along with your pronunciation of it. My pronunciation of some of the Georgian towns is something to hear, but as I have added those to the dictionary, they are still recognised. Actually, you could call "Batumi" "Bill" if you wanted to.
squid509 Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 you also have to train your self on now to talk to voice attack it is still using the windows speech recognition. try playing the keywords you are having trouble with in word text to speech look in Review tab Read aloud and try specking like that to voice attack yes you are going to sound like a robot
TBAR Posted August 18, 2020 Author Posted August 18, 2020 Thanks for the advice guys, I'll check the Oculus settings and keep training as I go.
