In what way would releasing something with unknown stability into something supposedly stable be sensible? I'm not taking the mickey. Just genuinely interested your thought process.

Means all of us stable users need to move onto open beta if we want to download and use the map - unless we wait for the next stable release which is a long way away. Open beta is supposed to be for public testing, once the major bugs are resolved then it goes to stable.
