bonesvf103 Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 Has anyone successfully dropped in Computer Target mode? I have been trying but they always seem to overshoot. I set the designator on the target and then designate it and the bomb drops when the cue hits the VV, but they never hit. Anyone else have any luck? v6, boNes "Also, I would prefer a back seater over the extra gas any day. IronMike Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 Use it quite often, however prefer for larger area drops or in combination with laser guidance. For pin point accuracy I either use computer pilot or if I have to, I usually try to ground lock slightly in front of the target. I found sometimes the lock would snap slightly aft. But I guess it is not really meant to be a precision tank busting mode, very useful however if you bomb runways, larger objects like buildings, bridges, etc etc... It is precise enough for that. bonesvf103 Posted August 29, 2020 Author Posted August 29, 2020 I had a GBU that I was using it with, to get it to be like dropping in CCRP mode, with a JTAC lasing. It seemed to always overfly the target and miss. If I did Computer Pilot mode, it would hit. Target was a SAM site. v6, boNes "Also, I would prefer a back seater over the extra gas any day.
