CajunRon Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 I've tried both "Shoot" voice command and "VAC" voice command. It appears the speech recognition is working fine off-line. But when I startup LOMAC FC only maybe half of my commands actually activate. With Shoot I can leave the application running in the back ground and it always shows that it interpreted the command correctly even though the command did not activate in LOMAC. It appears that when there's little activity (i.e. at takeoff) the voice commands work much more often than when I get into lots of action (and sounds). At that point I get less than 50% execution of commands. I'm running WinXP Home on a Athlon X2 4400+ (dual core) with a Nvidia Geforce 6800 graphics card, Creative Labs Soundblaster Audigy soundcard and TrackIR with Vector. All drivers have been updated to the latest. Any ideas?
PoleCat Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 I also use Vac. I like it much better then shoot. What you need to do is set and USE the push to talk in Vac to either right or middle mouse button and then the commands will work. For some reason and ONLY with LockOn no other buttons will work PTT. Of course you can also program a hotas button to generate the mouse button as you hold a button. Hope this helps you. Out http://www.104thphoenix.com/
CajunRon Posted March 24, 2008 Author Posted March 24, 2008 Thanks for taking the time to reply PoleCat. I am already using my middle mouse button as you say and have one of my Saitek joystick buttons mapped to the middle mouse button. As I mentioned, I can get it to work but only some of the time. It seems to always work when I'm waiting to take off (no RWS activitiy). It's when I'm knee deep in SAMS, my RWS is squawking up a storm and I'm trying to get a lock on my targets that I can't seem to get it to work (no indication that the programmed key presses are being sent). Even then it works sometimes but not very consistently. I've tried going to full headphones thinking that perhaps the sound from my speakers are interferring with my microphone but the results are the same.
Manawar Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 Vac is real nice program.. i recommend it :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
PoleCat Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 You may need to optimize the microphone and do the speech training. It works pretty well for me. Out http://www.104thphoenix.com/
CajunRon Posted March 25, 2008 Author Posted March 25, 2008 I went to the VAC website forum. Several years ago someone with the "Polecat" call sign indicated a similar problem with LOMAC FC. (Maybe it was you?) Anyway, the problem seemed to be that LOMAC FC would not process the "\" key if another key was being held down (and presumeably thus the need to use a mouse button for the activation key in VAC). I'm wondering if my problem isn't a combination of a programmed Saitek joystick button continuously sending a depressed key command and the "\" key problem. I'll have to give that a try when I get home in a few days
PoleCat Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Yes it was me. I think you are on the right track mate. Good luck. Out http://www.104thphoenix.com/
