YoGuRTeLLo Posted September 6, 2020 Posted September 6, 2020 I will try to briefly describe the problem. In a helmet, when I fly, for example, on su27, near the ground, the objects in front of me, those in the HUD and in that section of the cockpit that does not open - sweep past very smoothly and clearly. Then left and right when I look through the glass of the cockpit, there all these objects sweep past with an "echo". They triple. every object it becomes ... noisy or something. I use the DCS beta, have a i9900k 4,8, 32gb ram 3200, 2070super and game and windows with all updates on ssd. The settings in game i try any - and hight and low with 90 fps... I try to say - here picture is fine But here picture with "echo" or some very fuzzy and plural number of objects even if it (object) is one. For example, in Il2 everything is smooth and clear, and in general there is no such effect. I don't see this in any other game. I also tried No Man Sky. Everything is fine there too. Only here in the DKS. I flew yesterday on KA50 in a multiplayer game, there was no problem.
TOYKILLA Posted September 6, 2020 Posted September 6, 2020 Its an Engine Issue and we all hope that Vulkan will fix it. With Motionreprojection on, it works a lot better for me. YoGuRTeLLo Posted September 6, 2020 Author Posted September 6, 2020 i read and try the Motion Reprojection turn on in file on steam folder. And game be more smoothly but 45 fps is max. yeah... oh...
Motomouse Posted September 6, 2020 Posted September 6, 2020 (edited) Just do it :-) Not while driving the car of course! Watch the ground near to the fast car or the near surroundings of the fast train. Reality has problems to provide a clear picture in these cases too ;-) Edited September 6, 2020 by Motomouse VIC-20@1.108 MHz, onboard GPU, 5KB RAM, μυωπία goggles, Competition Pro HOTAS

Adam Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 (edited) Is Motion reprojection the same thing as motion smoothing? I was unable to find anything regarding 'reprojection' in the steam settings. :-( To the O.P. I believe I've had a similar issue. My FPS's were showing 25 but it was stuttering when viewing fast objects at right angles wiz by from the cockpit. I ended up messing with a lot of settings to reduce the load on the GPU which fixed this. (I've got Pixel Density (which is found in DCS VR settings) running at 1.0, and Steam SuperSampling set to 100% now. I've got a 2080 with 64GB RAM and I am only getting 45fps when near the ground. I wonder if it's possible for the GPU or DCS to overwork while the GPU is still calculating higher FPS but the results are still stuttering? Edited September 7, 2020 by Adam

You need to look at the WMR tab of the SteamVR dashboard to get more options. Both there and in the settings file, it is referred to as 'motion reprojection'. I don't know why it says 'motion smoothing' in the desktop app settings. Btw, the ‘motion smoothing’ settings do work for the Reverb. I use the controllers a lot, obviously not for DCS. There are many more settings in the WMR tab that are worth switching on your controllers for. It only takes a minute or two of your life! imacken Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 Because there are more options in the tab, the settings file is overwritten on updates therefore having to repeat the file editing process over and over, and it is a much more cumbersome method of achieving a lot less. Unfortunately I have no idea how to find the WMR settings in the SteamVR dashboard. I've gone into the 'SteamVR room', and clicked on various buttons on the controller which have brought up various 'dashboards' and have been groping around using controllers to try and find WMR settings - but none have a mention to WMR. I have WMR for SteamVR installed in steam (or whatever it's called) - but don't know how to access it. Cheers! I've managed to find a file which references motionreprojection in Steam\Steamapps\common\MixedRealityVRDriver\resources\settings\default.vrsettings The file contains: // Comment out or remove this line to use the SteamVR settings for controlling motion reprojection "motionReprojectionMode" : "disabled",Is it just a matter of commenting this out to switch it "On" to see improvements? ie - make it // Comment out or remove this line to use the SteamVR settings for controlling motion reprojection // "motionReprojectionMode" : "disabled",
eaglecash867 Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 Here is a good, but a little dated, explanation from Microsoft about how to make the changes in the file. There is a lot more in the file now, but if you just look at how the tell you to change the code for the MotionReprojectionMode setting, that will get you going. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/mixed-reality/enthusiast-guide/using-steamvr-with-windows-mixed-reality EVGA Z690 Classified, Intel i9 12900KS Alder Lake processor, MSI MAG Core Liquid 360R V2 AIO Liquid CPU Cooler, G.SKILL Trident Z5 RGB Series 64GB DDR5 6400 memory, EVGA RTX3090 FTW3 Ultra 24GB video card, Samsung 980PRO 1TB M2.2280 SSD for Windows 10 64-bit OS, Samsung 980PRO 2TB M2.2280 SSD for program files, LG WH14NS40 Blu-Ray burner. It takes a minute. Doing it the old way has to be repeated over and over after every update. Secondly, you have access to many functions, settings in SteamVR dashboard that you don’t otherwise see. But, clearly, it’s purely personal preference. In the bottom left, you’ll see the WMR tab icon. No need for SteamVR Home. Thanks for the help. I appear to have something different. I have (icons from left to right) - Menu - Desktop - fps VR - Library - Home - Shopping - Reset standing Position - Speaker, and - Settings Going into settings gives me the same settings/menu option that I see if I right-click on SteamVR's icon in the system tray and choose settings. Going into Menu gives me Steam, Exist SteamVR and Exit VR. There's no icons there for Windows Mixed reality.

imacken Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 I would highly recommend running betas of both these apps.
