Title.

(Offline Mission) LShift+R Restart didn't work. Yesterday Win 10 updated to ver 2004. Have not played offline much, so it's also possible last patch is the cause.

Does (Offline Mission) LShift+R Restart work for everyone else?

Hi. I've just tested his shortcut in previous OB (2.5.6.54046) and it works flawlessly. I'm guessing you have a duplicate keybinding or simply no binding at all for this function.

Please check the following in the Controls options:

1/ Select controls of your favorite aicraft (let's say AJS37), click any line, then press LShift+R. If nothing shows up, you have a missing keybinding.

2/ Check "UI Layer" and "NS430" categories: look for "LShift+R" keybindings, and delete them if you find any (these two categories don't raise any alarm in case of duplicate bindings).

It never shows up in the aircraft layer because that's not where it lives. It's in General layer and not in any other layer.

I have three layers

a) aircraft layer (Spitfire)

b) UI layer

c) General layer

There is no NS430 layer (because I never got NS430?). Choosing General and hitting LShift + R, line gets lit up as it should but it doesn't work while flying.

Now I wonder if there is an "you can't do that" setting for the mission somewhere?

I beg to differ. Many DCS commands exist both in General and Aircraft categories. And when they do, the Aircraft command is the only one that works.

Also, I've just noticed that the UI Layer category also has a "Restart mission" command, and this is probably the one you want to try out.

Here is a simple test I've just done:

1. Change the General "Restart mission" keybinding for LShift + LAlt + G.

2. Check that the Aircraft "Restart mission" keybinding is the usual LShift + R (it may not exist at all for said aircraft).

3. Change the UI Layer "Restart mission" keybinding for LShift + LAlt + U.

4. Launch an instant action mission with said Aircraft.

5. Press LShift + LAlt + G (General) : nothing happens.

6. Press LShift + R (Aircraft) : mission is restarting for AJS37, but not for TF-51D.

7. Press LShift + U (UI Layer) : mission is restarting for TF-51D.

So here's what happens exactly:

A/ If your aircraft has a dedicated "Restart mission" command, only this command will work.

B/ Otherwise, the UI Layer "Restart mission" command will work.

C/ The General "Restart mission" doesn't work, at all.

Apologies, you are correct sir. It works as you said.

I know what happened (I think). Month ago, I noticed and learned about conflicts. Went on a spree (quickly aborted) purging conflicts. Made erroneous assumption each command exists only in one place. Seemed neat and how it should be.

During the spree I think I changed the UI layer "LShift+R" to "LAlt+R" because it conflicted with some plane. Hence, no more working "Restart mission".

"Restart mission" doesn't exist in my favorite, the Spitfire. I gather the general rule is aircraft layer always has highest priority (checked first).
