2) BRM's do not seem to use any form of laser they will hit where ever the TGP is looking in area mode whether it's lasing or not (you can check this by turning auto to man lasing on the TGP)

Doesn't turning on MAN immediately turn on the laser though? If so, then #2 isn't conclusive.

no turning man on and auto off means manual lasing meaning you have to physically press a button for the laser to fire.

Not according to Chuck's Guide, page 169 (emphasis mine):

"If Laser Designation Mode is set to AUTO, laser will remain in LSR (Laser Ranging)

mode and fire only when a weapon is launched. If Laser Designation Mode is set

to MAN by toggling the AUTO/MAN OSB, laser will fire immediately in LSD (Laser

Designate) mode."

I rarely use MAN mode, but from what I recall, which isn't a whole lot, Chuck is correct.

Yep i know, so i'm 99% sure the LSD notification doesn't appear on the tgp when switching to manual. Feel free to try it yourself though, i will be trying it again later to make sure.

Chucks is out of date. MAN is default off. There's a new keybind, Alt + O, to then toggle laser on/off while in MAN.

Can the last digit on a plane using LITENING (F-18, F-16, A-10) go lower, so those could buddy lase you on 1113?

Yes, I had F18 and F16 buddy lase me on 1113 and shoot KH-29L and S-25L

Another few things about BRMs, while we're here.

The "IN RNG" is not required for launch, as long as you're pointing the right way. In fact, they can and will hit reliably even when launched from 7 or 8 miles out from a 15k feet launch, which is very impressive. Longer than that though and they seem to randomly lose track in flight, not sure if they have an internal battery life, or maybe cranking away from the target too far causes issues with tracking.

The ability to fire BRMs in pairs is a liability, don't use it. It seems there's a very high likelyhood they'll hit each-other in mid air before reaching the target. Given how good their hit rate and destructive power is, there's basically no point doubling up anyway.
