How do I slew the TGP?

So i'm encountering times where i make the targeting pod the SOI, and go to slew around but the targeting pod for some reason won't slew. Then suddenly it will be availible to slew and move around but I can't figure out what I did to make it work.

 

Also when I slave the targeting pod to a new steerpoint and move it around

Where i'm looking with the pod now becomes a new steer point and I can't seem to go back to the origional steer point.

TMS Right Short to switch to Area mode.

 

Also when I slave the targeting pod to a new steerpoint and move it around

Where i'm looking with the pod now becomes a new steer point and I can't seem to go back to the origional steer point.

TMS Down Short (2x) or CZ button on the TGP page will return it to the original steer point (Cursor Zero).
