Harlikwin Posted October 3, 2020 Posted October 3, 2020 So... Used it earlier tonight flying the viper. Go to use it again, just freaks out red flashy light and beeps. Check the RIS software, Y axis is just gone, alternating between 0 and max. Anyone have that happen? Any idea how to reset or recalibrate it? Fuzzysham Posted October 4, 2020 Posted October 4, 2020 Yeah this happened to my original R3. I had to send it back to real simulator. I forgot what it cost to fix it. I can’t live without the FSSB so I ordered an R3 Lighting while they were repairing it. Now I have a backup in case it happens again.
Harlikwin Posted October 4, 2020 Author Posted October 4, 2020 Not what I wanted to hear, but unfortunately what I expected. I still haven't heard from the their CS guys... Luckily I only use it for the viper and can use my TM warthog as a backup till I can get it fixed but switching between those two is trippy. Phantom88 Posted October 4, 2020 Posted October 4, 2020 Real Long shot here..but....Did you try and Calibrate in Windows device Manager through Control Panel? Maybe theres a Conflict? Also try a firmware update through RS Software. Hope for the best, Patrick

Also try a firmware update through RS Software. Hope for the best, Yeah, no it flashes and beeps red when things are out of bounds, and it basically does that at start. I checked the windows manager but it looks like its doing the same thing there. And IIRC you aren't supposed to calibrate it. Plus its like 0 or 100% deflection and it oscillates between the two. Harlikwin Posted October 6, 2020 Author Posted October 6, 2020 Fairly underwhelemed with their tech support dept. 5 days 1 email which was asking for my serial #, then nothing. 13WELT_JankeS Posted October 29, 2020 Posted October 29, 2020 I had the same thing - both axles were damaged, one after the other. I had to send back to Real Simulator. The board with sensors has been replaced. I think the FSSB underestimates the allowed forces that can be set. At maximum settings, mine broke after 11 months. The weak point is either the glue on which the sensor is glued to the metal plate, or the sensor itself. I am afraid now how long my plate with sensors will last. I decreased the force settings - I'm not happy with that because I was buying with the focus on using maximum strength. i7-8700K, Z370, 32GB DDR4-3000MHz, RTX 2080 Ti, FSSB R3L, TM Warthog HOTAS, CH Pro pedals, 2x MFD's, Windows 10 Pro, HP Reverb DCS: F-16C, F/A-18C, F-14B, F-15C, AV-8B, M2000C, F-5E, A-10C, AJS-37, Su-27, Su-33, MiG-21bis, MiG-29, Spitfire LF Mk. RogueSqdn Posted November 2, 2020 Posted November 2, 2020 Just FYI, my original FSSB R3 lasted for nearly 7 years until it only died because I spilt lemonade on it. I ordered an R3L at the same time as the F16SGRH CE back in January. FWIW, I never had a support problem with them. I had to send my original FSSB R3 back in because I broke the USB connector, and received it back with no problem. Harlikwin Posted November 2, 2020 Author Posted November 2, 2020 Reinstalling the firmware fixed it. However upgrading to their newest version of the sofware borked my TSUBA so I spent alot of time recalibrating everything, but it all mostly works now.
