Sensor select aft will just bring up a black screen can't get pod to slew to new spot

been having some issue with the harrier for some reason after atracking a tarhet and then trying to press sensor switch aft the screen will just be black and i can no long use the DMT.

 

Also when slaving the Tpod to a new point it sometimes will not switch to the nee position at all.

You say "pod" but then you talk about the DMT. Those are two distinctly different things.

 

Have the Litening II Targeting Pod mounted.

 

On the right MFCD, press MENU (OSB 18 ) until TPOD appears next to OSB 13. Press OSB 13.

 

STBY will appear next to OSB 15 and TDC next to OSB 14.

 

Press OSB 14 to underline TDC, then OSB 15 to call up the TPOD display on the right hand MFCD.

 

You now have two possibilities:

 

1.

a. Double-click SSS-Down (press twice in <0.8 sec. to switch to HTS mode.

b. Maneuver to point the velocity vector (VV) on the HUD at target area on the ground.

c. Press TDC-Down to mark the area under the VV as a target.

d. Double-click SSS-Down to return to TDC mode.

e. Us the TDC slew to sweeten your targeting aim.

 

2. While still in TDC mode, use the TDC to slew the target carrot (diamond) onto a target (TPOD must be using CCD (TV) oder FLIR to display on the right hand MFCD). Target must be within the areas the TPOD camera can actually view. Partly depends on weapons loadout. Laterally, larger bombs and missiles can block the view of the TPOD. Forward you can slew the camera to above the horizon. To the rear you can slew to about 30° past the absolute vertical.

I have also had some major issues with the MFD getting stuck in a blank INS screen.

 

This usually happens when slaving to MKP or WP.

 

Process I have been using on right MFD- Select desired WP, check not in FLIR mode, check slave is selected, press DESG.

 

This process initially works just fine and will slave the TGP to my target, but after repeating a few times, when designating, the TGP will switch to INS or some times DMT instead of slaving the pod. Often this will result in a locked INS MFD screen that will not respond to any input at all.

 

I'm not even going to go into the LSS mode function......

The MPCD is displaying DMT/LSS, because it's bugged.

 

If you cannot move out of DMT/LSS IIRC flip flight mode from AG to anything and then back, and the press the MENU OSB. Everything should work again then.
