TAD DMS switches

What do these do? I can’t work it out from the HOTAS sheet on the sticky, or from playing around with it or reading the manual.

 

Specifically:

 

Fwd long - Map Quick toggle

 

Aft long - Select map center option

 

Left short - CEN/DEP mode CNTR own

 

(I understand right short, cycle TAD center option, which changes between ownship in the center and at the bottom of the screen; but I can’t make the others do anything).

Seems to be common problem.

Left Short - Your ownship symbol will drop farther down the map on the TAD and not be in the center.

 

eg A 5nm Range in CNTR will give you a 7.5nm Range in DEP

Ok then what does right short do then? (Sorry, not by my computer so may have those two the wrong way round).

My cheat sheet says DMS RIGHT SHORT = Cycle TAD Center Option

 

Not sure what that means though.

DMSRS changes between CEN and DET map modes with TAD SOI, centered or detached(where own ship is further aft in display).

 

As for DMSFL and DMSAL, they have no function for me as well, despite what the flight manual states.
