In general, FXAA being very simplified post-processing method, certainly yields very good performance, at a cost of unimpressive quality - it only takes the final rendered frame, detects and blurs edges a little all around. Doesn't cope with horizontal structures (buildings, fences) shimmering unfortunately.

 

But these are my expeciences of a flat-screener. I seem to recall reading it didn't work in VR at all, but someone with VR-set has to say if that's still the case.

I tried it for my Rift S but I have to say that in my opinion its no good. FXAA makes everything a bit less unsharp even on a screen and in VR that is particulary undesireable because I think most people are trying to get as sharp vision as possible in VR. Also FXAA did basicly nothing to improve my graphics in VR, basicly it does not make things look better the way MSAA does.
