flankerjun
I try the laser guide bomb quick mission, and use the GRID Coordinates play it again,i have input the Coordinates and WPSD it to the bomb, and the mark poin on HUD are several feet from the target, the bomb always miss the targets. toilet2000
Did you enter the coordinate in PRECISE format? If not, the accuracy of 6 digits UTM/MGRS is 100 meters, so enough to be way off target. With a laser designation it shouldn't matter though. LTRMcrew
Yea as above it shouldn't matter with a laser guided bomb, did you set the laser code on the bomb to the same code as jtac? sounds like you dropped on the coord and not on the laser. The coord get the bomb in the right area and then the laser should guide it to target.
LTRMcrew
Also, once you release the bomb there's nothing for you to do for it to track laser, as long as same code it will do all the work itself. unless maybe the bomb couldn't quite get to the target? wind, drop position, etc.
LTRMcrew
I should also add that sometimes the bomb can't see the jtac laser for various reasons: blocked by something, wrong angle, jtac turned it off, etc. so that could account for the miss. _mu110_
Maybe this is your issue. When JTAC targets a group containing multiple enemy units, he will read out coordinates that describe the approximate location of all members of that group instead of coordinates for one specific enemy. For GBU employment this should not present an issue since the laser will designate one particular unit, but using these coordinates for JDAM is unlikely to result in a hit. To work around it use separate FAC-Assign Group commands for each unit you wish to target. Check out my skins and mods on the User Files.
Fri13
What is the bomb laser seeker FOV? If bomb captures the laser too late and it is too off from it, it doesn't help as it doesn't have glide power. i7-8700k, 32GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 2x 2080S SLI 8GB, Oculus Rift S. i7-8700k, 16GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 1080Ti 11GB, 27" 4K, 65" HDR 4K.
