Aussie Pilot Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 I would like to hear from those who have either used the Mav-F's in real life or have experience in this field regarding the realism of using them compared to how they are used in this sim please. Before the recent updates of the Litening Pod, I know we could fly along and destroy 4 trucks with 4 Mav-F's one after the other all in a single pass. (I mean select, target and shoot, then immediately move to the next target and shoot again and so on 4 times, killing all 4 trucks in one pass.) Now with the more realistic updated targeting options with the Litening pod and how we are supposed to use it, there doesn't seem enough time to shoot more than one target per pass by the time you reacquire the next target and switch between DDI's to get the Mav to lock on again. By then you are almost to close. So my question is... In real life could you achieve more than one successful target hit in a single pass, which only gives you 7.5 miles ? Cheers, Aussie Pilot.
VIXEN413 Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 I guess you refer to your previous method as designating with the pod, shoot, predesignate, shoot etc. Dunno In real life but the best method now I guess is to use the MK points. I usually establish a left wheel at around 12Nm from target and MK 4 targets with the pod. Then, I do the hot run with mk1>wpt dsg> Mav uncage then shoot switch to mk2 etc etc Rig: MB Gigabite z390UD, CPU Intel I7 8700k, RAM 32G DDR4 3200 Gskill ripjaws, GPU MSI RTX2080SuperOC, HDD Crucial mx500 1tb M2 sata, PSU Corsair 850W, watercooling Corsair h100, Controlers TM f/a 18 stick on Virpil warbrd base, TM cougar f16 stick on cougar base, Cougar F16 throttle on TUSBA, ch pedals, TM cougar MFD 27" monitor with trk IR 5 and HP Reverb HMD.
