  1. I have the quest 2, does it work any good once you get it working or are you better off using the mouse? Cheers, A.P.
  2. Hi Guy's, New to this and am still trying to understand this, but since 2.9 update is openXR always enabled for VR or do we need to edit an exe to force it to enable as I have read in some older posts? If I need to edit an exe, is it still the same as before? Cheers, A.P.
  3. Do we still need to force enable openXR in DCS now since 2.9 with an edited exe? This thread is a year old now and with 31 pages I don't have the time to wade through them all. I have a quest 2 VR headset. I'm kind of under the impression that DCS is running openXR all the time now and doesn't need enabling, but being new to all this, it gets a bit confusing. Cheers, A.P.
  4. Thanks guy's, I will look at these options.
  5. Still learning to set up VR with my Quest 2. Anyway. In normal seating position in any cockpit, it looks great, but it's hard to read a lot of the buttons and switches etc, especially in the Hornet and Apache. But if I lean right in, so you are almost right on the dash, it's all very clear and readable. Why is this, why can't they be read as easily from the normal seating position? I don't think this has anything to do with wearing glasses or graphic settings. Also, is there a way to turn of reflections in the Lua files anywhere? Apart from the Hornet you can't seem to turn them off. I have "Lens Effects" and "Cockpit global illumination" turned off in settings as well. Cheers, A.P.
  6. Hi, I'm just curious. Since swapping to VR recently I've noticed that the object labels seem so much bigger, the font is bigger and bolder. I don't always fly with them on but some of the people I fly with need them, but now they seem right in your face. Has anyone else noticed this? Can you reduce the font size in settings or a Lua file somewhere? Also, the HUD/Monocle in the Apache seems rather bigger in VR than normal pc screen, a little bolder as well. Any ideas? The F/A 18 isn't too bad, it still fits in its HUD. Still learning to set this up. Cheers, Aussie Pilot.
  7. I'm still new to this but something I read is that on the VR Tab in setting you can change the value of "Force IPD Distance". I think the default value is 63.5 but if you make it bigger the cockpit gets smaller around you, and if you go smaller it's bigger. (or the other way around lol.) But it affects all cockpits. Check your settings, you can also do it while sitting in the cockpit.
  8. Wow guys. Thanks for the fast and helpful responses, much appreciated.
  9. I recently got the Quest 2 and am making my way through setting up. Not to bad so far. My system: AMD Ryzen 7 2700 8 Core 3.2ghz. 16gb Ram MSI GeForce RTX 2070 8GB I know it's not top end but it's a start. 1) Anyway, I've read bumping up to 32 gigs of RAM may be necessary but where will it help? Does it help stop shimmering, will it increase frame rates or make the graphics better or just the general smoothness the game runs at? 2) What's the go with Hand Tracking. I enabled the hand tracking in the VR tab in settings and ended up with game crashes for ages until we found I had to change a setting in the Options.lua to get it back to normal. I've heard that since 2.9 hand tracking doesn't work for Quest 2 at present. I do use the cable link to my pc with 5gbps speed. 3) Is there a way you can test the speed of your link cable? 4) Should I be using that OpenXR Runtime? Not that I know how too, would it make any difference? Thanks for your help, I have searched a lot for answers, but they don't always cover what I need to know. Cheers, Aussie Pilot.
  10. I found this also, but still programmed the button. Turns out, it works the command ok, it does switch between IR or TV each time you press your programmed key, but in cockpit its animation doesn't show, it just stays depressed. It won't pop up and down each time unless you use the mouse, as you said.
  11. Thanks, MAXsenna, that may be a little beyond my pc skill's, lol. I've got another one for you though. This year I updated all my flight controllers to Winwing products, including a proper collective, hence the reprogramming. Now I have heaps of buttons etc to programme. Anyway, I can't find the key binding for the M variants "VCB IR Power Selector". I can programme everything else for it but not that switch that does work when mouse clicking it. The only binding that looks like it should be is "SA342 Vivianne Power 2 Pos". I've programmed it to my button option, but it doesn't work in cockpit. I know it's simple enough to click with the mouse, but I was really hoping to use my new controller for as much as possible. Again, I've googled for an answer, with no luck. Thought I'd ask you before starting a new thread about it, or a bug note. Cheers, appreciate your help.
  12. Thanks MAXsenna. How would you create a new key binding for this if there isn't one in the list? I've had a bit of a google about it but didn't find anything useful.
  13. Is there a key binding for the EFB Tablet? I can't find one anywhere and I've searched online also. I know you can use the mouse to click on it to hide and show it, but I was hoping to bind it to a joystick or throttle quadrant button or switch. Cheers, Aussie Pilot.
