Hello, Windows 10 did an update without telling me and since then, DCS has had issues. The game, I run on a fairly weak system, runs smoothly at low settings, but now, it stutters quite a bit and freezes up. During the stutters and freezes, the sound continues just fine, but I can't do anything. Other times, the game is doing well, and the sound is messing up.

I updated the driver for my gpu, and lowered the initial load radius and that helped. However, now the game is crashing. I loaded DCS and the inital DCS load screen went up, then the black screen with DCS and it froze there. I tried reloading the program and after it did the update bit, it just ended. Third time I tried, I got into the jet, F/A-18C and when I brought up the rearm panel to switch loadouts, the game just went back to windows. No error messages or pause, just suddenly looking at my desktop and no DCS anywhere to be found.

The system instability I blame on Windows 10, DCS has always been a reliable program for me now matter what machine I play it on. Just wondering if anyone else is having issues after this last 10 update and have found any work arounds? I hate windows, but life without my planes, well, that's just unthinkable.

Hi. Please attach your dcs.log file ( C:\Users\your_name\Saved Games\DCS...\Logs\dcs.log ) using the "Upload attachments" button below.

You might have GPU Scheduling turned ON. It is is, turn it OFF.

The GPU setting was ON, turned it OFF and boom, problem fixed. Thank you, never would have thought of that.

Credit goes to BIGNEWY. I believe he himself had the issue right after he updated his W10. He then created a thread about it.

Glad it worked! Fly safe. :pilotfly:
