Magnetic Heading And True Heading are inverted

First of all here's the the Final magnetic course from a jeppesen chart for runway 07 (08 ingame) in Kutaisi is 074

Now the final Course is Always magnetic

however it appears that 074 in game is TRUE HEADING

and it doesn't make any sense if you add with the Magnetic Variation. we know magnetic variation in Kutasi is 6.8 East. you can google it but i'll give you one

https://www.magnetic-declination.com...si/916290.html

now from flight school we know things about "TRUE VAMPIRE MAKES DEAD COMPANION"

TRUE HDG, Variation, Magnetic HEading, Deviation, Compass Heading"

so if its West you subtract because west is on the left. and if its East you Add because east is on the right. so with that said

If we have a 074 Magentic( according to the chart from jeppesen) with 6E of variation then :

T....... V....... M

.........6E ......074

..... + 6 = 74 . so we need the true heading to be 068 in order to have a 074 Magnetic heading.

So yeah you got it mixed up.

I also checked with 2 Other civilian Sim and they are all showing 074 MAGNETIC not 67

TL;DR:

This is a limitation of DCS's legacy rather than a bug i.e. it is a compromise made by ED when they reused older map assets when making "DCS World".

Detail:

First of all here's the the Final magnetic course from a jeppesen chart for runway 07 (08 ingame) in Kutaisi is 074

The RL headings can't be used as DCS's Caucasus runway headings are different.

The Caucasus map dates back to "Lock-On Modern Air Combat", Flaming Cliffs, etc. those simpler combat simulators didn't model magnetic declination.

DCS still contains FC3 aircraft i.e. F-15C, etc. so even when updating the Caucasus map to 2.5.x, ED kept the runway inaccuracies (I assume to maintain backward compatibility).

With FULL modules like the A-10C, etc. - magnetic variation (based on date and location) is subtracted from the appropriate aircraft instruments, rather than adjust the underling Caucasus map/terrain model.

For FULL modules like the A-10C, etc.

• DCS F10 map bearings = True

• Magnetic = True - magnetic variation

Example

Kutaisi RWY 08 = 74°T

Caucasus Magvar = +6E

RWY 08 Magnetic = True - magvar = 74 - (+6) = 68°M

For legacy FC3 aircraft like the F-15C, etc

• DCS F10 map bearings = magnetic (i.e. as read on it's cockpit instruments).

Example

Kutaisi RWY 08 = 74° as measured on the F10 map = the magnetic bearing seen in the F-15C cockpit = ~ the RL runway heading

well then i think they should switch the True heading as the Magnetic Heading for every aircraft and vice versa No ?

No.

New maps such as Nevada, Persian Gulf, Syria, etc. are made / aligned for FULL modules and runway headings read approximately correct to RL (AFAIK they still have inaccuracies due to DCS's projection methods).

Doing what you suggest would break the runway headings on every other map
