Nealius Posted November 16, 2020 Posted November 16, 2020 Same payload, same mission with different ToD. First noticed in a user mission (day) that I edited to night. With the exact same payload and gross weight, I can easily take off from a FARP during the day, but at night it really struggled despite lowering the temp 3C, and I needed more collective than during the day. EGT and gas producer readings are the same; not sure if that's expected behavior or not. Procedure: 1. Enter 10' hover 2. Ease the nose down and maintain 8-9' until IAS goes through 20, established climb, and/or the dash stops shaking 3. Measure takeoff distance. Results: 0800, 30C, 29.92 - EGT 5.6, takeoff distance approx. 2000' 2200, 30C, 29.92 - EGT 5.6, more physical collective needed (perceived), takeoff distance approx. 5,700' Huey Day.trkHuey Night.trk
Nealius Posted November 23, 2020 Author Posted November 23, 2020 Can anyone confirm or deny this? Something still feels very wrong with the performance at night with the same weather conditions vs. the day.
