Volk. Posted November 17, 2020 Posted November 17, 2020 New one up on Dust causing Engine Vibration. If people are really interested I can post trackfiles for the majority of the tests, but otherwise, as stated in the vid, use the test results loosely - there's still some variability in there. One interesting find is that anti-icing, as it stands in the current OpenBeta seems to rapidly accelerate dust failure if you're really low. I can't comment any any protection it might afford higher up. Also interesting is that ambient dust haze (setting in mission planner to haze up the entire sky up to set distance/altitude) doesn't seem to affect it. 3 For Black Shark tutorials, visit my channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-LgdvOGP3SSNUGVN95b8Bw
QuiGon Posted November 17, 2020 Posted November 17, 2020 This is some really interesting stuff! Thanks a lot for sharing those test results! I always wondered if dust damage is actually simulated in DCS and I'm glad to see it actually is! 2 Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
