LANTIRN on F-14A-135-GR (Late)?

I was hoping the LANTIRN could be mounted on the F-14A-135-GR (Late) model, as the LANTIRN was fitted on many A models late in the Tomcat's lifecycle. VF-41 famously brought the SCAR mission to the Tomcat as depicted in the book Black Aces High, and were flying the A model at the time.

 

However, in the online manual the F-14B description says

This version has the newer General Electrics F110-GE-400 engines, the AN/ALR-67 radar warning receiver as well as having the ability to mount and use the LANTIRN targeting pod.

Are we to interpret that the LANTIRN is a B exclusive, or will we get the pod on the A as well?

LANTIRN will be on the A (late), just like the AN/ALR-67. Neither of the two are exclusive to the B.

Is it possible to use the Lantirn pod and GBU's exclusively from the pilot's seat, via the Jester menu? If not, will that functionality be added in today's patch? The whole point of the Jester menu is to simulate a RIO and jumping between seats spoils immersion somewhat. Was the launching of GBU's done exclusively from the RIO's seat in real life? Doesn't seem likely. We should at least be able to ask Jester to show us the Lantirn feed on the pilot's VDI and ask to designate certain targets.

LANTIRN is RIO only stuff (except pressing the pickle button). The ability for Jester to use LANTIRN will come in a later update. For now you either have to fly with a human RIO, switch seats or use a mod.
