Saruman Posted November 19, 2020 Posted November 19, 2020 Hi there. No overclock, fxo and metashaders2 cleaned after every update, did the cleanup/repair thing, but nonetheless, since a couple of patches ago, I experience random CTD in multiplayer (sometimes I find myself all of a sudden back to desktop withouth even DCS warning me about the crash and offering to send logs to ED), especially when I enable MSAA ingame (I don't know if it's a coincidence, but with MSAA disabled game seems solid). Attaching latest minidump (the crash happened yesterday): dcs.log-20201118-205551.zip
Flappie Posted November 19, 2020 Posted November 19, 2020 Hi Saruman. Saruman Posted November 19, 2020 Author Posted November 19, 2020 No, I don't overclock. I have DDR4 3200mhz, i7 6700k stock and Gigabyte Gaming G1 970 (yes, I know, it's old and I'm going to replace it with a 3080), but I didn't touch default frequencies. As I said, it seems MSAA could be the culprit, because if I disable it DCS seems stable (or, at least, I did not experience any crash without MSAA). Could it be a VRAM thing? Odd enough I've been having this only since a couple of patches ago, though Inviato dal mio BLA-L29 utilizzando Tapatalk
Flappie Posted November 19, 2020 Posted November 19, 2020 I see you have the latest version of W10. Please ensure the Windows GPU Scheduling feature is disabled. ---
Saruman Posted November 19, 2020 Author Posted November 19, 2020 I couldn't find any Windows GPU Scheduling option in my Windows setup (I followed instructions on your link, thx). I guess it might be due to 970 not being capable of the feature.
Flappie Posted November 20, 2020 Posted November 20, 2020 You must be right about the 970. Your Windows has been updated very recently (Windows NT 10.0.19042 was published on October 20th). It may be the cause of your issues. If you think it matches, you can revert to the previous version and see how DCS is doing. ---
