Hi all

Just picked up the Mi8 in the sale so i haven't done a lot of testing or reading. Didn't notice anything in chucks guide regarding the following.

When I first flew the 8 everything seemed normal. The last couple of flights I noticed some odd behaviour in the cyclic.

I have the controls indicator open and do an autostart from cold and dark. The cyclic was not in the centre position when it was up and running, but aft and to the right a little bit. If I position the cyclic in the centre and hit the trim button and release the stick, it settles even further aft and to the right.

The takeoff seemed a bit wobbly compared to the first flight and the cyclic indicator was wobbling around and seemed not directly following my stick input, (but not a joystick problem, tested). As if there was some sort of stability assist engaged but I had turned the autopilot off completely.

The first flights were just in instant action free flight, and the odd behaviour I noticed online where the server weather was a bit windy.

Appreciate any input. Thanks.

Check special options tab. You most likely have "control helper" turned on.

Also, don't turn pitch-and-roll autopilot off. It's there exactly to limit the wobbliness and keep the big girl steady. Standard procedure in both real life and in game is to fly with it on all the time.

I think you're probably right. I think i turned it on after looking at Chuck's guide as it stated it must be on see the controls indicator and crew status window.

thanks for replying

Standard version of controls indicator is still available with helper "off", though, so choose whatever works best for you.
