CommandT Posted December 12, 2020 Posted December 12, 2020 (edited) Hi guys, I've had my Warthog since April and it has just all of a sudden developed an annoying bit of "play" just off-center somewhere between the X and Y axis. It's very obvious that something is wrong. So as soon as I felt this I took it apart but decided not to go any further after taking the big spring off. Basically I haven't taken the gimbals apart in case I mess it up. Without any tension on the gimbals without the spring I couldn't feel if anything was wrong. So I'm not sure where the problem lies. i know for a fact it 's there though, in the base, in the gimbal somewhere. Has anyone had this sort of issue or have any idea for what might cause it to have some play? I've searched around to see if anyone has had this and there's various things I've found but mostly with re-greasing. Edited December 12, 2020 by CommandT

xoxen Posted December 12, 2020 Posted December 12, 2020 Hi CommandT, what cordite wants to say is that it would be better to post in the Thrustmaster section to get more answers. Anyway, you should check the state of your O-Ring, which is in the big cylindric part where the big spring is standing on. I heard it very often that this O-Ring, which is originally made of rubber material and is glued, comes lose and is creating issues. Attached pictures, which I found in another forum, display exactly what I mean. When you remove the big spring you can easily move the part displayed up and watch the condition of the ring. Good news is, that you can replace it. Hempstead in this forums offers them. Simply shoot him a PM and he will offer it. Just had the opportunity to have contact with him and ordered one. I hope this helps in your case. You can also degrease the rubber ring and the surfsce and re-glue it with a rubber glue like Shoe-Goo (watch the internet), I did this sucessfully some time ago. CommandT Posted December 12, 2020 Author Posted December 12, 2020 Thanks very much for this. I took it apart again and indeed the O ring had come slightly loose. I'm not sure if this was the issue or not but after tightening everything up again it feels great! Cheers!
