Nealius Posted December 13, 2020 Posted December 13, 2020 I've isolated my framerate issues to shadows and don't understand why they cause such a huge impact. Going from OFF to FLAT or LOW costs me 15fps. There doesn't seem to be any performance cost difference between FLAT and LOW at all. Is there no way to get cockpit shadows without losing so much performance despite using VR shaders mods and having all other settings on LOW or OFF? System: i5-9600k 4.7GHz, RTX2070, 32GB RAM, SSD VR: Odyssey Plus, PD 1.0, SteamVR resolution 94%
Glide Posted December 13, 2020 Posted December 13, 2020 (edited) You can bring Visibility Range down to HIGH or MEDIUM. Set Grass/Clutter to zero. That might give you back enough to have high shadows. I personally have them on Medium and Flat. Edited December 13, 2020 by glide

Even with that I'm losing 15fps with shadows FLAT or LOW when in busy areas like the Supercarrier, Incirlik, or over the frontlines of a battlefield.
