Dedicated Server not starting / Window freezes

Hi,

I can't run Dedicated Server on Windows 10 Pro w/ latest updates.

I tried both Open Beta and the Stable dedicated server v2.5, cleaned the Settings dir, Re-installed serveral times, etc. The app window opens but freezes. The log shows an error:

2020-12-18 10:23:10.066 ERROR   GRAPHICSVISTA: Can't load render backend 'dx11backend.dll'. Reason: Das angegebene Modul wurde nicht gefunden. (--> module not found)

Hi, you have sound related issues as well as this DirectX issue. Can you please attach a dxdiag log file? Here's how to make one.

Dedicated server can be launched by two ways:

 

1.  Default way: you have to use desktop icon created by installer. No other actions needed for start - just make double click (type login-password if necessary) and wait for server in web-gui. Note: dcs_updater.exe will launch first and then it moves control to dcs.exe with necessary server options.

 

2. Custom way (your case): launch dcs.exe directly. In this case you HAVE to supply executable by necessary command line options:

 

dcs.exe --server --norender
