ACLS Glideslope Results in Shallow Approach (F-14A).

(F-14A) ACLS coupled approach pitch oscillations are fixed, but the ACLS glideslope still brings you in low/shallow. Pictures below show an approach to the supercarrier module with ICLS glideslope on the HUD, ACLS glideslope is on the VDI. The approach resulted in a stable, albeit shallow pass to a 4 wire. As the distance from the ship decreases, the glidepaths begin to intersect. (see below, note ranges on HSD). ICLS glideslope and meatball also vary between each other slightly.

Supercarrier is only set up for Hornet. It DOES NOT change the ICLS/FLOLS for other aircraft right now.

Yes, this is true. Is the ACLS glideslope the intended glidepath for proper hook/eye distance then?

ACLS guidance is the same for all aircraft and should have you intercept the glidepath at 3nm. The ACLS provided glideslope is indeed too shallow for the tomcat. HB knows this but probably waits for ED to implement ACLS for the Hornet to fix it. For now, use ICLS as the source for your needles to get the correct glideslope
