TWC_SLAG Posted December 18, 2020 Posted December 18, 2020 I had my F2 key bound to the outside view, until yesterday. Now, hitting F2 turns off the microphone through a VoiceAttack assignment that I can't find. If I push it again, the sound comes back on. I didn't change anything. I discovered this when I found F2 thru F9 were not working. As before, F1 puts me in the cockpit, and F10 shows me the map. These two work fine. I thought it was the keyboard, it was old, so I bought a new one. Its not the keyboard. I have checked the control bindings in DCS and VoiceAttack. Neither show any changes which would turn off the mike, or those function keys. If I press any of the function keys on the keyboard, they are highlighted in both VA and DCS controls, as they should be. Has anyone else had this problem? Flappie Posted December 18, 2020 Posted December 18, 2020 If you're not playing with latest open beta, there are chances you have the F2 key configured in either "UI layer" or "NS430" Controls categories. Please take a look. ---
TWC_SLAG Posted December 19, 2020 Author Posted December 19, 2020 I looked, and there is nothing in the UI, and I don't have the NS430. But. thanks for the quick reply. I wish you had been right. Flappie Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 Try renaming your C:\Users\your-name\Saved Games\DCS (or DCS.openbeta) folder into "DCS_backup" (don't delete it). Then launch the game and see if your F2 through F9 keys work. ---
TWC_SLAG Posted December 19, 2020 Author Posted December 19, 2020 Flappie, that didn't seem to do anything. Third times a charm, they say and I hope. Flappie Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 Well, that's weird but I'm glad it worked. ---
TWC_SLAG Posted December 20, 2020 Author Posted December 20, 2020 I submitted a ticket to DCS Support. They told me "Unfortunately, after some patches, custom bindings are lost. The latest update seems to be one of those. We are sorry for this incident. Please bind the keys again." I tried clearing my assignments and re entering them. That did not work. I asked if that meant the F keys could no longer be used, but haven't heard back, yet. Has anyone else had this problem, or was it just my last update? Flappie Posted December 20, 2020 Posted December 20, 2020 Oh I thought you said your issue had been solved, my bad. To my knowledge you're the only one having this issue. It could be caused by an external app. For instance, TrackIR default keys prevent the use of F7, F9 and D12 in DCS. Look in your running apps for F-keys controls. ---
