EasyEB Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 The ZSU-57-2 is a great addition to the game. It fits well into the type of scenarios that suit DCS best, air to ground. And while I’m by no means an armor specialist I kind of get the sense that it can take way too much punishment and still keep fighting as normal. This is probably because of how damage works in DCS at the moment. As an open topped vehicle, just about anything should knock it straight out and kill every person in the turret, but as of right now it can take up to four direct hits to the turret with APKWS (AP), where a single one of these rocket hits will straight blow up a BMP. It seems as if inherited the armor of the T-55 tank more than anything. Am I wrong in thinking that this thing can take way too much punishment?
Northstar98 Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 (edited) Not very, it has something like <20mm of RHA all around, kinda similar to the BMP only open topped. It'll readily be penetrated anywhere by HMGs (distance dependent) and above. So no you're not wrong at all that thinking the ZSU-57-2 is too resilient in DCS.
