Most headset mics are unsuitable for audiophile singing, but work just fine for basic communication You don't need any kind of special equipment

 

Corsair Void has a very good mic (and audio, plus not super expensive), as does the SteelSeries Siberia if you want a wireless.

I just realised you're talking about the actual VR headset. I always disabled the audio and mic on that. No way some jury rigged nonsense can compete with an actual dedicated unit. Be that as it may, they are probably sufficient for basic communications, also.
