and of all

 

A saitek x 45 flight controller :D for my christmas gift :D

 

I installed lomac immediately on that.

lockon was never soooo good.

 

campaigns are also smooth now.

and since my bro doesn't use his comp much...its as good as mine ;)

 

lomac's terrain is the BEST.

 

my settings are:

tex high

scenes high

visibility high

haze advanced

heat blur on

shadows on

res 1152x768

color 32 bit

terrain 50km

AA 4x

AF 4x

 

is still smooth

though fps is little shaky :P

 

I thought the lomac terrain lacked trees :P at medium ...but scenes at high reveals it all :D

I can't stress HOW GOOD THE TERRAIN OF LOMAC IS.

 

ED NEVER NEVER decrease the detail for sake of performance, THIS SIM IS THE BEST with the detail.

First time I flew LOMAC with the trees I was amazed on what they did for the atmosphere. Then I flew without the trees and was appalled at the green Moonscape. I will not fly without trees again.

Know what ya mean A_V. Had Lockon for a couple of months, hadnt really read the docs about what you do/dont see with my setting of scenes medium due to my so-so PC. Then reading posts on the forum about how tough to see units in the forests and I'm thinking " Hey, I was born in Sherwood Forest and a single row of trees on the edge of a field is hardly a forest. Robin Hood would turn in his grave....".

Then I get my Athlon3000, 9800Pro, 1Gig upgrade, and start experimenting. Holy %@$* look at that! That is what people were talking about forests! I just flew around free flight for a day, they look so real, paths and clearings, different tree types at altitude etc.

No going back, bonafide tree hugger now....

 

I always used to play with little or no clouds too to help the FPS, but now I can fly with full overcast the terrain looks so realistic , eg. power lines seem to show up more.

You can't really compare Lockon to fighterops, Lockon is in its 3rd going on 4th generation in development. Fighterops is still in its first development stages. You could compare Lockons graphics to x-plane 8.0 however they are both very close in certain areas.

Hey Aquarius

Wait till you're playing online with those settings, you'll be even more amazed. Just about every time I play on HL I notice something that I never picked up before. ED did an amazing job on the graphics of this game, can't wait to see what they've done with Flaming cliffs.
