dkdos123 Posted December 23, 2020 Posted December 23, 2020 Hi, I am new to both this forum and the usage of X56. Today I got the X56 solution with both stick and throttle. In DCS I have purchased the F/A-18C. I was surprised the I was not able to select either JOY_X or JOY_Y while setting up the X56 HOTAS Throttle for throttle adjustments. I could select 36 different buttons on the throttle but not JOY_X or JOY_Y. I thought it would be obvious to have JOY_X or JOY_Y for throttle adjustment. Am I doing something wrong? Are there workarounds? Can anybody help?
rob10 Posted December 23, 2020 Posted December 23, 2020 Assuming you are in the AXIS section of the binds (selected at top, different to where all the button binds are), make sure you are moving the throttle through the whole range of motion when trying to bind it. It often won't pick it up if you just move it a little bit.
YSIAD_RIP Posted December 23, 2020 Posted December 23, 2020 Make sure you are in the Axis Commands or Axis Assign Menu - See attached. There is also a handy forum for Logitech a.k.a Saitek that includes X56 where you can find other handy tips and troubleshooting information. https://forums.eagle.ru/forum/335-saitek/ Happy Holidays Do not own: | F-15E | JF-17 | Fw 190 A-8 | Bf 109 | Hardware: [ - Ryzen7-5800X - 32GB - RX 6800 - X56 HOTAS Throttle - WINWING Orion 2 F16EX Grip - TrackIR 5 - Tobii 5C - JetPad FSE - ]
Razor18 Posted December 24, 2020 Posted December 24, 2020 (edited) Go to Options / Controls. Select F-18 Sim. In the next field to the right, select "Axis commands". Below in the big window scroll down to Thrust Left. In this line go to your throttle column (see column header). In that field press RIGHT mouse button (NOT the left one). From the pop up menu choose "Add combo". It will look for input, so move your left throttle up and down, until it recognizes it. Do the same thing with right throttle. Go in game, check if throttles moves forward when you push yours forward. If not, go back to the same place, bring up again pop up menu with right mouse button (or simply highlight the line and then at the bottom press "Axis tune"), and check the "Reverse" box. Reading the manual would also be beneficial. This is not a game in any regard, and learning curve will be steep, but very rewarding. One must have patience to learn, or he should rather go play War Thunder or some plug-and-play eye candy arcade game. Edited December 24, 2020 by Razor18
