The only other SARH version of the R-27 would be the R-27EM, but development was abandonned decades ago and very little is known about. Yep, those two. This is basically the same idea as the APG-63's ability to guide two sparrows to different targets at the same time that never materialized. The Pk of such a shot is very low, it's one of those things that's 'mentioned' constantly which is effectively a rejected idea, but someone proposed it some time and the mention made it into a magazine. So yes, it's definitely possible ... no one uses it. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
henshao Posted January 12, 2021 Posted January 12, 2021 Perhaps in real life it's unlikely, but in DCS missiles fly like well aimed rifle bullets when they go dumb and from a single -ping- of the radar get your exact height, speed, course and best intercept point with regard to prevailing meteorological conditions All I'm saying is when you kill a Tomcat, be sure to change heading some, in this game
TaxDollarsAtWork Posted January 12, 2021 Posted January 12, 2021 I thought the EM was made for shooting down low flying low RCS targets attacking the fleet
GGTharos Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 IIRC it specifically had improved capability to work in sea clutter. I don't know about low RCS - maybe ... but I believe the bigger threats were things like helicopters for example.
