SharpeXB Posted December 29, 2020 Posted December 29, 2020 This push-to-talk setting on servers using Discord etc Do you admins realize what a pain this is to use? Yeah I get that it’s realistic and all. But.... Most of these add-ons like Discord and Teamspeak don’t accept HOTAS buttons as assignments. And trying to set a HOTAS to do keyboard emulation means remapping everything for every module! Just saying... If you want people using comms make it easier. i9-14900KS | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | 64GB DDR5 5600MHz | iCUE H150i Liquid CPU Cooler | ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4090 OC | Windows 11 Home | 2TB Samsung 980 PRO NVMe | Corsair RM1000x | LG 48GQ900-B 4K OLED Monitor | CH Fighterstick | Ch Pro Throttle | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR 5
Volator Posted December 29, 2020 Posted December 29, 2020 Discord and TS accept HOTAS buttons for PTT. Constantly hearing other users breathe, cough, munch, slurp or fight with their wife and kids with open mics is simply unacceptable. PTT or bust. 1 1./JG71 "Richthofen" - Seven Eleven
xvii-Dietrich Posted December 29, 2020 Posted December 29, 2020 There are several utilities (e.g. JoyToKey) which let you map any joystick/controller button so that it triggers a key press. I have done that so that I can map my cyclic trigger to be a key, so I can do PTT via any system (SRS, TS3, etc.).
QuiGon Posted December 29, 2020 Posted December 29, 2020 You don't even need utilities to do that in Teamspeak. Teamspeak accepts HOTAS buttons from the getgo. However when using the voice activation I’ve never experienced this, even in silly FPS games. I don’t know why but it only accepts certain buttons on my CH throttle. The hat which I normally have assigned to radios doesn’t work but the mini stick push down does. i9-14900KS | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | 64GB DDR5 5600MHz | iCUE H150i Liquid CPU Cooler | ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4090 OC | Windows 11 Home | 2TB Samsung 980 PRO NVMe | Corsair RM1000x | LG 48GQ900-B 4K OLED Monitor | CH Fighterstick | Ch Pro Throttle | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR 5
