ismail3636 Posted January 19, 2021 Posted January 19, 2021 Hello everyone, Need some advice on purchase of this build. It is a new build. The price is in singapore dollars. But my question, is the set up suitable for dcs? For multipayer etc. I consider myself new to PC games but used to play falcon 4.0 ages ago, if anyone remembers it. Getting a warthog hotas and a 34"inch screen to go along. Below is the specs given by a dealer: is it a go, or no-go? I really have no clue and cannot decide, hence this post Intel Core i7-10700KF Processor ASRock Z490 Pro4 Motherboard ADATA XPG SPECTRIX D60G 32GB (4x8GB) DDR4-3200 RAM Zotac GeForce RTX 3070 8GB Twin Edge OC Graphics Card Lexar NM610 500GB M.2 NVMe SSD Gigabyte P750GM Gold PSU Cooler Master MB511 ARGB Casing Intel AX200 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth PCI-E Card ID-Cooling Zoomflow 240 X Liquid Cooler Price: $2,370
PE_Tigar Posted January 19, 2021 Posted January 19, 2021 On your first question - yes, it is suitable, it will run DCS just fine (how much you can go crazy in the settings will depend on how many pixels that 34" monitor has - I'm playing on 34" 3440x1440 with pretty high quality settings, and this configuration matches or exceeds what I have in the box). What I would add to that configuration is just one thing - more storage space. My installation of DCS is ~250GB, so with only 500GB you'll run out of space for other things pretty fast. I bought an M.2 NVMe 2T SSD just recently because I was running out of space for ~400US - you can probably get it cheaper than that. In any case wouldn't go for less than 1T of storage total - 2x 500GB, or a single 1T, whichever you please. Oh and I do remember Falcon 4.0
Glide Posted January 19, 2021 Posted January 19, 2021 (edited) Right now the best hardware choice is to get 12GB of VRAM or higher if you can afford it. This will future proof your purchase as much as possible. The future is in VRAM. Also, 32GB of RAM is a must have. Edited January 19, 2021 by glide

Hi draconus, Am looking at oculus quest 2. Here in singapore, there will be good discounts during chinese new year which is a couple of weeks away. Hope to save some bucks by getting VR then. Hole in wallet after yesterday's shopping.
