bobaz Posted January 19, 2021 Posted January 19, 2021 I have the "Realteus forcefeel" pad. The pad seems to work with no problems. Everything was working fine, then I did a win 10 fresh install. I start "SimShaker for aviators", then start DCS, & can't get a USB connect, & plus a connect error box. I tried other USB ports, & went over a list of fixes from MS. I plugged/unplugged, looking for problems, even blew air into each port. Sometimes device manager shows a yellow unknown, that I uninstall, & reboot, still no help. I read win 10 has USB problems, & I think that's the source, & don't know what else to do. Any other suggestions most appreciated. BitMaster Posted January 21, 2021 Posted January 21, 2021 When you did the fresh WIn10 install, did you install Intel Chipset drivers as well ? That could be a thing if not done right. Other than that, does that device need a driver ? If yes, have you installed that one ? bobaz Posted January 22, 2021 Author Posted January 22, 2021 Thanks BitMaster, Yes, got Chipset drivers from Asus, first thing after install. I don't know about other device drivers. Waiting for some help from the maker of "SimShaker for aviators". Asus ROG Z390, I9 9900K, Win10 64, 32 GB DDR4, 1TB NVMe M.2, EVGA GTX 2080 Ti, Realteus ForceFeel Gaming Pad, HP Reverb G2
hsth Posted January 22, 2021 Posted January 22, 2021 Have you tried deleting C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0 directory & reinstall Simshaker? I had problems once and got it only back to work by deleting 'old' entries in this directory.
bobaz Posted January 22, 2021 Author Posted January 22, 2021 Thanks hsth, before I do that, is 2.0 folder only associated with SSA? Don't want to delete if needed for something else. hsth Posted January 22, 2021 Posted January 22, 2021 Yes, I know the name of the directory does not indicate it... You can always move it to another place and then reinstall Simshaker. If it doesn't work, move the old one back.
bobaz Posted January 22, 2021 Author Posted January 22, 2021 Didn't help, but thanks for the suggestion. Asus ROG Z390, I9 9900K, Win10 64, 32 GB DDR4, 1TB NVMe M.2, EVGA GTX 2080 Ti, Realteus ForceFeel Gaming Pad, HP Reverb G2
hsth Posted January 22, 2021 Posted January 22, 2021 Hm, only thing left I can think of is motherboard bios. Did you check for latest bios in relation to windows 10 version?
bobaz Posted January 22, 2021 Author Posted January 22, 2021 Yes, I have the most current bios. Thanks for your efforts. Asus ROG Z390, I9 9900K, Win10 64, 32 GB DDR4, 1TB NVMe M.2, EVGA GTX 2080 Ti, Realteus ForceFeel Gaming Pad, HP Reverb G2
bobaz Posted January 22, 2021 Author Posted January 22, 2021 (edited) I get random USB not recognized alerts. Could be a MB problem, but idk. I would hate going through all the trouble replacing it, then find out it's win10. BitMaster Posted January 24, 2021 Posted January 24, 2021 If its the board it's likely only 1 pair of Ports or the USB form that chip, usually you have USB ports from more than 1 chip available. Unlikely that all are broken. Have you tried other Ports, front rear, different color ( USB 2.0 / 3.0 /3.1 etc.. ) ? Is the device working on another PC/Hardware Gigabyte Aorus X570S Master - Ryzen 5900X - Gskill 64GB 3200/CL14@3600/CL14 - Sapphire Nitro+ 7800XT - 4x Samsung 980Pro 1TB - 1x Samsung 870 Evo 1TB - 1x SanDisc 120GB SSD - Heatkiller IV - MoRa3-360LT@9x120mm Noctua F12 - Corsair AXi-1200 - TiR5-Pro - Warthog Hotas - Saitek Combat Pedals - Asus XG27ACG QHD 180Hz - Corsair K70 RGB Pro - Win11 Pro/Linux - Phanteks Evolv-X
bobaz Posted January 25, 2021 Author Posted January 25, 2021 Ok, time to fuss up. Problem solved with some help from SSA creator, something stupid, simple, & I'm too embarrassed say. Because I do have some USB thing going on I jumped to conclusions. I get USB connect/disconnected, & USB error balloons as I run HMD stuff sometimes during the day. Even though I hate it, It's not chronic problem, so I'll live with it. Thanks for the comments, sorry for wasting your time. RedeyeStorm Posted January 25, 2021 Posted January 25, 2021 Mayby a tip I haven’t read yet. Go to device manager and check all your USB ports and controllers. Go to there properties, then power management and disable the ability to go to sleep. That solved my problems of my joysticks cutting out midsession.
bobaz Posted January 25, 2021 Author Posted January 25, 2021 Thanks RedeyeStorm, I'll give that a try. Asus ROG Z390, I9 9900K, Win10 64, 32 GB DDR4, 1TB NVMe M.2, EVGA GTX 2080 Ti, Realteus ForceFeel Gaming Pad, HP Reverb G2
bobaz Posted January 29, 2021 Author Posted January 29, 2021 Went through all the USB stuff in device manager, didn't help. Then realized it could be the wireless KB, or trackball. Had another trackball, & switched it out, problem fixed. Asus ROG Z390, I9 9900K, Win10 64, 32 GB DDR4, 1TB NVMe M.2, EVGA GTX 2080 Ti, Realteus ForceFeel Gaming Pad, HP Reverb G2
RedeyeStorm Posted January 29, 2021 Posted January 29, 2021 Congrats, always check the cabled stuff first!
