jg1234 Posted January 26, 2021 Posted January 26, 2021 (edited) Hi Folks, I apologize in advance if I should not post this question in this section. I was wondering if my PC specs and graphics card in particular will be able to run all WWII DCS content at ultra settings in 1080p resolution for the foreseeable future? I see the recommended specs list a GTX 1070 video card as needed for high, but given the continued mods that may be coming for DCS in the WWII area I wanted to get some insight on how the future would like on my PC if I stick to 1080p? Specs: GPU - NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) RTX 2060 SUPER(TM) 8GB GDDR6 CPU - 10th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700KF processor(8-Core, 16M Cache, 3.8GHz to 5.1GHz) HD - 1TB M.2 PCIe NVMe Solid State Drive RAM - 32GB, 2x16GB, DDR4, 2933Mhz OS - Windows 10 Home 64bit English SOUND - Onboard Thanks in advance for any help and information - jg1234 Edited January 26, 2021 by jg1234
Glide Posted January 26, 2021 Posted January 26, 2021 Your specs are almost ideal. The key to success is to get your VRAM usage down such that the mission does not cause your card to use Shared GPU Memory. If you keep your VRAM usage below 8GB you can have all the goodies turned up. For example, I have 11GB of VRAM in my 1080Ti. I can run Persian Gulf and Caucasus beautifully at 4k on these settings, but I don't have enough to run Syria at these settings because it will take over 11GB of VRAM and force me to use Shared GPU Memory. I can fit Syria in if I drop textures and terrain textures to Medium and Low respectively.
jg1234 Posted January 26, 2021 Author Posted January 26, 2021 Thanks glide for the quick response and all the information. It sounds like I am in much better shape than I thought! Cheers - jg1234 1
