I miss the drag effect of the refueling basket. After hitting refueling basket, the drag force of it should be divided between the hose (the tanker) and aircraft in accordance with the sagging of the hose. This effect should make ballance in the speed of tanker and customer - less drag for tanker -> speed up, more drag for customer -> speed down.
I feel that there is nothing like that. If I have stabilized speed some 1 or 2 knots higher then tanker - there is no decceleration after connecting.

Is it specific to M-2000C or is it the same with other modules ?

I don´t know, Mirage is my only aircraft equipped with refueling probe. But the principle shoud be the same.

Maybe, but in DCS World, not everything is in Razbam's hand 😉

Do you have real life experience of in flight refueling ?

Truth is that indeed IRL when you enter the basket there is a slight speed drop for the receiver.

If you have 1 or 2 kt closure speed it will disappear without doing anything.

It is more certainly due to the fact that you have to push the hose which is hydraulically driven in order to absord the contact shock.

On the contrary, on a centerline boom drogue adapter you have to reduce power to stop moving forward.

So yes this type of effect would be realistic.

No life experience, just theoretical knowledge from my studies. My branch is ATC
