Blinky.ben Posted February 2, 2021 Posted February 2, 2021 (edited) I made a quick mission to test some weapons with the JF already in the air and I noticed as soon as I click FLY. The JF-17 does this strange wiggle at the start and then it fly's like one wing is heavier then the other but with a weird yaw also. I have tested with my controllers connected and disconnected, I also tried on different maps but it's not always the case. it seems to always happen at 30,000ft but not all the time if i start lower. only been happening sense last update. I never have this happen with any type of ground start. only air start. also take note of the HUD. It’s like there is a very strong cross wind. I don’t have wind on this map. JF-17 Strange behavior.trk Edited February 26, 2021 by uboats

Blinky.ben Posted February 2, 2021 Author Posted February 2, 2021 I made a video but I can't make it small enough size to add it here. I'm not the greatest with that kind of stuff. But I have added 2 Screen captures. the captures show the control inputs, I don't know what the difference is between the green and red squares. But in the captures I have just click fly and then the JF does a little jolt like it hit a speed bump then it aircraft leans to one side and yaws to the right. there is no wind but the HUD shows like I'm in a strong cross wind. no matter what I do I can't get the aircraft to correct what is happening.
LJQCN101 Posted February 4, 2021 Posted February 4, 2021 The red squares indicate your controller positions, and the green ones indicate flight control system outputs. So it shows that you have some right rudder input. EFM / FCS developer, Deka Ironwork Simulations.
unknown Posted February 4, 2021 Posted February 4, 2021 @Blinky.ben This is what i see if i replay your track(didn't record to the end). Like LJQCN101 said, you have a right rudder input and that causes the wobble at the start and the "weired" flight behaviour you see/encounter. If you would test any other module with an air start and would intentionally put some right rudder input before you hit fly you would see the same behaviour. That would also explain why you never see this with a ground start -> you are using your rudder(taxi) -> recentering your false(?) rudder inputs. If i do an air start in the JF-17 i don't have that problem like you. So i would say maybe do a re-calibration of your pedals or move them a little left/right before you hit fly. I don’t have rudder pedals just a stick and throttle which is why I found it strange. However I found the problem. I also have a controller connected to the computer that lives in a draw which is what was causing the grief. Yep massive face palm. 1

Alaskan Posted February 26, 2021 Posted February 26, 2021 HaHaHa I do this all the time when playing some games with a controller and then going back to DCS, I have a mini panic attack when I think my stick is broken than I remember the controller and pull it out.
