G'day

On behalf of the 169th I'd like to invite you all to fly with us in a friendly squad match session.

Lately, 169th has been flying with BSR, Iron Angels, EPN, and previously with a few JaBoG_32 members as well. We're very keen to do more of this, the flying scenarios being team vs team, one team defending an objective, and the other team attacking. It has been squad vs squad and also mixed, in just the last two days we've had BSR guys as flight leads and element leads with 169th flying wing, and vice versa. IT HAS BEEN REALLY COOL!

BSR L()csta and myself, and a few others, have come up with some larger objective based missions for squads to fly against each other, for between 10 and 20 players.

In addition, Glowing_Amraam has offered his superb talents to make a movie out of the matches!!! He and I are very excited about this prospect, as I am sure you are!

What we need from the community is the following:

- If you are interested, contact me: sven@169thpanthers.net

- We are going to need someone to host the bigger missions. 169th currently can handle up to 10. If you can handle more and would like to host, let me know! You will also be the one to record the fight.

- The track files from the battles will be sent to myself or Glowing_Amraam directly.

- MOST IMPORTANTLY, to organise this effectively, we need a commitment of numbers, and a time to meet up in Hyperlobby and on a teamspeak server.

There are a lot of squads out there, and I have spoken to some already. Let's try and get this cracking, it will be a LOT of fun, and we can learn a LOT of each other.

So if you are interested, email me, sven@169thpanthers.net . Squads of all sizes and talents are welcome, suggestions and missions you've made welcome too.

I CANT WAIT TO SEE what Glowing_Amraam can do with this sort of footage!!!

Best Regards

Yes, all squads should join in on this one, it will be very fun.

And then in the end, there will be a movie of the whole thing, which i think many of you will greatly enjoy.

Sven above me here is very excited about this stuff, i just showed him my latest video, then we started talking about making some huge movie out of some huge online sessions.

So sign up for this one.

Indeed, keep it coming! We'll have to start getting this show on the road soon.... as soon as I'm back from my holiday that is. The 169th needs me, right Sven?!

Well, my smart ass attitude departs the LoMaC world again on the 14th, so we need someone to fill my boots. We'll just about do a clock in clock out like the cartoon characters lol.

Squads, keep sending your interest to sven@169thpanthers.net

Well, I really don't know. I'm back at officer training school with the RAAF until the end of March. The only way I'll get back up is to take my PC over to Jaws' house, which isn't too far away, and I intend to do this if he can find a weekend where his G/F isn't going to whip him away.

After that however I'm going to an interim posting and I very much doubt I'll have broadband...sure it's probably going to be a fighter squadron I'll be working at but there won't be any Lomac. Then I start basic flying training in June and am gonna be busy for 6 months, no holidays until the end of 2005.

I get three months off then but whether I have broadband or not depends on where I stay, I really don't know what I'll be doing at that stage.

So, other than a weekend or two at Jaws' house, after the 14th I'm probably gone for good :(

Hey all, sorry to say that despite some intense initial interest, I only ever ended up having three squads who were genuinely interested in organising a squad match, which we have done. Thank you to JaBoG_32, VVS504 Moose Squadron, and the 42nd Redhunters.

It's a bit disappointing considering that there are so many squads out there that virtually no one is interested in any competition...come on, it's a combat flight sim, it's ALL ABOUT competition. I just hope that, being holiday season, most squads are pretty inactive at the momment.

Unfortunately I will not be around anymore, I head back into training with the RAAF on Saturday and will be away from a broadband connection for probably a year. I may get online at Jaws' house every now and then on a weekend, he lives near the base I'm training at until March.

I hope some people in the community take the oppourtunity to organise some competition between the squads. Competition and team work amongst each other and the squads is what will take this sim to a new level, not better AI.

Best wishes to you all, adios.

Sven
