Peyoteros Posted July 27, 2008 Author Posted July 27, 2008 (edited) Yeah, I know but like I said Vodka calms you down! I really don't know where you get the idea that Russians do everything under the influence of the vodka, some crazy stereotype you have there in your head. I bet Croatians drinks just as much vodka as Russians... or as the rest of the world. I bet you think that Russians invented Vodka... :P Edited July 27, 2008 by Peyoteros 1 "Eagle Dynamics" - simulating human madness since 1991 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] ۞ ۞

bandera Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 (edited) Speech translate... No, friend. It is impossible to translate :D. Russian unquotable vocabulary much more rich than English. Especially when it touch the extreme situation. We have even some jokes about this. I think you know some of them. But these not for forum :). bandera Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 ...lots of Russians were impressed with quantities I had... I know. It is your wife has helped you to study to drink like a fish :D. Only Ukrainian people can have a win in competition with vodka (gorilka). And now even Russian people are in wonder from you :). When you will be in Moscow next time, let me know. May be we can have a meet.
Vekkinho Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Of course, I'll visit Moscow again next year for MAKS 2009 for sure if not sooner! I'm staying at friend's house in Muranovskaya street, between metro stations Birbirevo and Altufyevo! I'll contact you for sure! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Teknetinium Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 (edited) he Is lucky, I bet most of us would start singing, I know I guy working as a parachute force in Russia, He told me about a story when his main shute didnt open he was lucky as well when reserve did, Just that he was not singing, in military they jump whit allot off equipment that weights some Kg, unfortunately because off the reserve is not as big he landed pretty hard braking a leg. bandera Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 ...I bet most of us would start singing... I agree with you. When you had pulled Death by her moustaches, you would not only sing :). But parachutists have own guilt. Why are they doing it? I will never jump out from a non broken aircraft :D.
Peyoteros Posted December 9, 2008 Author Posted December 9, 2008 Another extreme... http://smotri.com/video/view/?id=v699927c402  "Eagle Dynamics" - simulating human madness since 1991 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] ۞ ۞
G3 Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 (edited) the first guy who sings after his primary parachute tangles reminds me of my one and only solo jump. i would like to share the story with you all. trained all weekend, learning technique, altimeter and how to cut away the primary chute etc, i preyed i would not have to do this :) packed into a small plane with many others climed to 10,000' and exited the plane solo, 2 skilled jumpers exit with me just in case i pass out i think. had a total brain overload for a few seconds then i got my awareness back, watched the altitude carefully in order to avoid the ground, was shocked by my vertical velocity/ decent rate. ok the time to pull the ripcord was now, so i pulled it, and nothing. waiting, nothing, immediate concern quickly turning to panic. i swung my body to look up for a canopy and nothing is there, oh shit man. thinking now do i cut this one and hope for the reserve to work, meanwhile the ground is approaching rapidly. the turning to look must have caught the main chute's pilot chute in the wind and boom, it pulled me up like a seat belt in a car crash, after that i enjoyed the decent and did a few turns etc ending in a nice flare and a slight running landing but i was on two feet and more importantly still alive. gave out a cry of relief and kissed the earth under my feet. talking later, "sometimes they sit on your back for a while" they told me. even after this i would suggest to anyone that skydiving is a must do thing before you die, even if it's what kills you, it's a serious rush that's for sure.
