Damage modeling and emergencies.

If you have played IL-2 a bit you know that its damage modeling is pretty good and that the "ground handeling" of the aircraft is equally good. You can often (if you're good enough) put down your plane in a relatively safe manner in most places :joystick: you won't just go out in a fireball once you touch the ground, emergencie landings in IL-2 can be a very exciting and gratifying experience, skidding across the ground, breaking off the wings on some trees and still come out ok  I'm reluctant to bail out in IL-2 because I know that there's many time a chance that you can save the plane and even if you fail in the end it's good fun.

In Lock On it feels a lot more like lottery if you'll make it or not, much depending on the type of ground, the feeling that you can possibly save your ride just isn't there IMHO.

How will DCS handle this?

Well, first DCS module is a Ka-50! You're pretty safe landing in the cornfield!

Try landing AFMs in LOFC (Su-25 and T) in a field. These guys should handle it!

Other planes (fighters) are not supposed to land dirty (gear down) in the field so there U have it. It's pretty reallistic!

But think roads and streets and honk your horn!

Yeah the Ka-50 should be fine for rough landings as was the Su-25T. All the other planes just blow up the second you touched the ground with anything but the wheels and part of the bottom.

I asked about a damage model note a while ago, and I remember Matt saying it should come out someday. I can't find the post, though.

Helicopters fly.

Well I did say that this was regarding the next producers note because in Matt's list 'Damage modeling and emergencies' is nr 6(hmm?), I wasn't just making this up ;)

Well I think it would be the next one... http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=27592&highlight=long+list+producer+note+videos+cover+items+as%3A

That's an old, old wooden ship. There's an updated version somewhere.
