lesnyborsuk Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 I'm reading Vipers in The Storm by Keith Rosenkranz (great book BTW). He was a Viper driver at Al Minhad during Operation Desert Shield. According to him around the base they were flying around monstrous sand dunes sometimes as high as 800 feet. In DCS in Persian Gulf map whole desert is pretty flat and boring... Could we have such features? It doesn't seem too hard to implement. I remember when sex was safe and flying was dangerous.
VTJS17_Fire Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 This is a) 30 years ago, as most of the surroundings weren't build, so the winds were higher out there in the desert and b) dunes can "hike", as you know. They aren't static. Some 15 miles out east of Minhad there are some high sand dunes, like in the book described. But some more dunes in general would be good, if only static. Jenson Posted August 31, 2021 Posted August 31, 2021 I would also like to see sand dunes, even if a static one would be good to have.
