Mo410 Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 Yes, correct as you said as well as the folks above, shoot, step with undesignate (verify it stepped and it stepped to the correct next trackfile) and shoot. In fact, if you shoot from STT and hit undesignate, it should go into TWS (but may not be modelled right now, will check in a bit).

AMRAAM shot from STT = RTS mode becomes TWS, even if STT'd from RWS previously.
Bear21 Posted April 5, 2021 Author Posted April 5, 2021 I can confirm that SST undesignate gets you in RWS, not TWS. @Mo410, was STT undesignate always followed by TWS AUTO or is this a late software change to the radar? Right now we can't use your suggested method of RWS>STT and shoot, undesignate>TWS AUTO and then finish of the rest with shoot>undesignate>shoot>undesignate..... ____________________________ HP Envy 34 TM16000/TWCS/TFRP. Mo410 Posted April 5, 2021 Posted April 5, 2021 My experience has been that this was always a feature back to 17C, which would put it in the neighborhood of the time frame that is being simulated. You can just push button into TWS, but I understand the desire to HOTAS given the mouse movements or VR considerations.
LastRifleRound Posted April 6, 2021 Posted April 6, 2021 Is stepping implemented properly? I have track priorities 1-4, and let's assume priority doesn't change during the engagement. Rapidly pressing undesignate will step 1 to 2 to 3 to 4 to 1. No problem. However, if I undesignate, then wait two seconds, it will always jump back to priority 1. So, 1 to 2, wait 2 seconds, 2 to 1. 1 to 2 to 3, wait 2 seconds, 3 to 1. Is this correct? Does timing matter when stepping or is it always sequential?

It's done that way so you can step the L&S to a popup threat without having to step through the entire bank of tracks.

It gets in the way of engaging horizontally separated groups where repositioning is necessary between missile launches, but I understand the trade-off. Edited April 6, 2021 by LastRifleRound
